FAQ

Where are you located?

Online/Virtual

How do I get online with you?

I will email a link to you just before your scheduled appointment time. You will click on the link. It will take you to the meeting and I will admit you into the meeting.

What are your office hours?
I schedule my first appointment at 9 am and my last at 3:30 pm. I am on lunch break between 12 pm and 1:30 pm.
How long is a session, and how often will I see you?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long and usually scheduled weekly in the beginning. As we progress, we can work together to determine if we can adjust the frequency of sessions while maintaining your change and still meeting your needs.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require a 24-hour cancellation notice. In the case of an emergency, I will allow for a first-time exception. We must consistently meet so that we can continue to make progress.
With whom and what ages do you work?
I work with women ages 17 to early eighties and couples.
How can therapy help me?
There are many reasons why people choose therapy. Sometimes, people seek therapy to work through long-standing psychological problems and issues or anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. Other times, it’s seeking help with challenging and broken relationships. Many seek the support of a therapist as they pursue personal growth and change.
What can I expect in a therapy session?
The initial session allows me to get to know and understand you and your situation and determine if our relationship is a good fit. Together, we will work on goal setting for therapy and formulating a plan to begin working on your goals.
What type of therapy do you offer? What is it called?

I offer and use several counseling modalities. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you identify and change unhelpful thinking and behavior patterns that cause personal and relational distress.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a trauma treatment that can help address many mental health problems.

The Gottman method for couples therapy helps achieve goals to include increasing closeness and friendship behaviors, addressing conflict productively, and building a life of shared meaning together.

Grief and loss work in therapy is a varied experience for every individual. I employ a range of grief counseling techniques to help you navigate through the process of your loss.

Will I be required to turn off my phone in sessions?
I understand and respect that there are times when it’s necessary to be available for an anticipated important phone call. Otherwise, I ask that you silence phones as sessions are more effective and productive without outside interruptions.
